SUMMARY:Education Session 2
DESCRIPTION:Two-Part Masterclass\n\nAs educators\, we are tasked with prepa
ring students not just for employment but for ethical global engagement\,
intercultural responsibility\, and collaboration in increasingly AI-shaped
  environments.\n\nThis two-part masterclass invites educators\, trainers\,
and other learning enthusiasts to reimagine intercultural work in an age
of disruption\, digital mediation\, and accelerating automation. Grounded
 in a human-centered\, systems-aware approach\, it explores both a return t
o the relational roots of intercultural interaction and an exploration of
the emerging tools and trends reshaping global learning. We’ll explore
the growing need to see interculturally sensitivity as a core skill\, the
ethical implications of AI in team-based collaboration\, and the urgent ne
ed to design inclusive\, resilient\, and scalable virtual spaces for conne
ction.\n\nPart 1: Back to Basics – Reclaiming the Relational Core of Int
 ercultural Work\n\nFocus: Reflection\, reconnection\, and resilience\n\nKe
y Topics:\n\n The fractured present: Why interculturalism matters now mor
e than ever\n Reframing “competence” as relational fluency and ethica
l engagement\n Making space for difficult conversations without collapse\
 n Virtual Exchange (VE) as a bridge\, not a compromise\n\nLearning Outcom
es:\n\n Renewed clarity on the purpose and practice of intercultural work
\n Tools for designing brave\, inclusive learning spaces\, both virtual a
nd in-person\n Strategies for supporting learners in polarized and politi
cized contexts\n\nPart 2: Forward to Inclusion – Trends and Transformati
ons in Intercultural Practice\n\nFocus: Innovation\, integration\, and eth
ical use of technology\n\nKey Topics:\n\n Emerging trends: AI\, hybrid co
 llaboration\, and algorithmic inclusion/exclusion\n Real-world Example: G
lobal Work (GloW) Competency Model: Intercultural\, digital\, sustainabili
 ty\n Designing intercultural learning for hybrid\, remote\, and AI-mediat
ed teams\n Building critical AI literacy into leadership and teamwork cur
ricula\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n\n Insight into the latest intercultural an
 d DEIB-adjacent trends\n Frameworks for embedding AI-awareness and cultur
al ethics into programs\n Practical models (like the Global Case Study Ch
allenge virtual exchange) for scalable\, impactful experiential global lea
rning\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKER\n\nEithne Knappitsch is Professor of Intercultu
ral Management at the School of Management at Carinthia University of Appl
ied Sciences\, Austria. Her teaching focuses on relational dynamics in org
anizations\, leadership\, and collaboration in diverse and global teams. H
er research and practice explore intercultural communication\, conscious c
ollaboration\, and relational intelligence for sustainable and inclusive l
eadership. She advises organizations on team effectiveness in hybrid and t
ranscultural contexts. She is co-founder of the Global Case Study Challeng
e\, an educational non-profit focusing on global experiential learning and
currently serves on the Board of the International Virtual Exchange Conso
